All About Us

In Sanskrit, there is a word, Lila (pronounced Leela) meaning to play. But so much more than our English translation to play. It is the play of life. The stage on which life expresses itself. It has all the colorful characters you can imagine, a stellar art department, wicked special effects, and incredible stories. It is the painter, the painted, and the painting. What a divine play

Welcome to Lila.

We are here to play. To play with yoga, dance, retreats, workshops, teacher training, sound baths, book clubs, cacao, and moon ceremonies, goddess circles, kirtan, live music, live performances, celebrations, and anything else we dream into being.

Our Philosophy

At Lila Studio, we believe that yoga is about more than just poses. It’s about embracing the beauty of movement and the joy of the present moment. Lila — which translates to “divine play” in Sanskrit — is our guiding principle. Yoga here is not about perfection or rigid expectations, but rather about enjoying the process, exploring your body’s limits with curiosity, and finding balance between effort and ease. Yoga is an invitation—to move, to feel, to connect. At Lila Studio, we encourage:

Playfulness

Because yoga should be joyful, not rigid.

Mindfulness

Every breath, every movement, every moment matters.

Inclusivity

A space where all bodies, all backgrounds, and all levels are welcome.

Meet the Founders

Lila Studio was born from a shared passion for movement, mindfulness, and building a community where yoga feels like play.

Michelle Green

Founder & Lead Instructor

With a lifelong passion for movement and mindfulness, Michelle has spent years exploring the connection between body and breath. Her yoga journey began as a way to find balance amidst a hectic life, but it quickly turned into a deeper practice—one of self-discovery, joy, and play.deeply, and connect with themselves in an uplifting and supportive community.

After completing her advanced yoga teacher training and leading classes across Salt Lake City, she envisioned a space where yoga wasn’t about rigidity or perfection, but about curiosity and self-expression. Lila Studio was born from that vision—a place where people could move freely, explore different styles of yoga, and, most importantly, enjoy the process.

When she’s not on the mat, you’ll find Michelle hiking through the Utah mountains, experimenting with new smoothie recipes, or reading about the philosophy of play in different cultures. Her teaching style blends fluid, creative movement with a deep respect for traditional yoga practices, ensuring every class is an experience of both grounding and exploration.

Chloe Bingham

Cofounder & Studio Director

As the heart behind Lila Studio’s community and operations, Chloe is dedicated to creating a space where everyone feels welcome—no matter their background or level of experience. With a background in wellness, business, & fitness, Chloe saw firsthand how transformative a supportive yoga space could be. Partnering with Michelle, she helped bring Lila Studio to life, focusing on inclusivity, connection, and fun.

Beyond managing the studio’s daily flow, Chloe is passionate about fostering a sense of belonging. She loves seeing students connect, grow, and build relationships both on and off the mat. Whether she’s planning studio events, chatting with members after class, or fine-tuning the perfect playlist, her goal is always the same: making Lila Studio a place where people can move, breathe, and be themselves.

When she's not at the studio, you’ll find Chloe seeking out the best coffee spots in Salt Lake City, taking weekend road trips, or diving into creative projects that bring people together.
